Central Wisconsin SHRM Provided Resources for Local Job Seekers

The Central Wisconsin Society of Human Resource Management (CWSHRM) provided a panel of Human Resource professionals from the Wausau area who spoke with job seekers regarding different areas of employment at two recent job fairs. On October 31st they facilitated a panel presentation at Congressman Sean Duffy’s Job Fair, held at the University of Wisconsin – Marathon County. This job fair was open to the public. A similar panel discussion was held on November 6th at the Fall Job Fair, at Northcentral Technical College. This job fair was restricted to NTC students and alumni only.

Each panel consisted of four volunteer CWSHRM members, representing a variety of industries, including banking, healthcare, manufacturing, and staffing services. The panels provided an hour long presentation consisting of information on the application process, resume writing, interviewing skills, and soft skills. A question and answer session followed to allow job seekers to ask questions in relation to any of those topics, and a handout of helpful tips was provided to all participants.

The goal of the Human Resources panels was to educate job seekers and provide them with first-hand knowledge of what employers are seeking in potential employees, with the ultimate goal of them being successful in obtaining employment.

This is the second year CWSHRM provided this resource to job seekers in the community.
