A New Key Note Speaker Announced for the 2013 WI SHRM State Conference

The WI SHRM State Conference is fast approaching!  The conference will be held October 9-11th, 2013 in beautiful La Crosse, WI.

There has been a change in key note speaker for Friday, October 11thLinal Harris, from US Cellular, will now be presenting!  Linal will be speaking on leader and employee motivation.  His speech is titled: “Why Inspirational Leadership is Essential to Business Success in the 21st Century”.  You won’t want to miss this presentation!

Linal Harris is an international business professional, Fortune 500 company executive, writer, speaker, entrepreneur, radio host, and life coach.  Currently, Linal is the Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer for U.S. Cellular.  In this role, he develops and oversees diversity strategies, talent programs, and community outreach for the organization.  Linal has played an integral role in helping U.S. Cellular receive various awards for continued support of diverse suppliers and work within diverse communities.

Linal himself has also been awarded numerous awards such as the Chicago Urban Roundtable’s 2012, 40 Game Changers under 40 award, and The Chicago Defender’s 2013, Men of Excellence award.  Prior to working at U.S. Cellular, Linal worked in the call-center industry assisting in setting up call centers in India, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Jamaica.  With over 15 years of leadership, business operations, and technology experience, along with working in various domestic and international positions, Linal has developed a unique perspective on diversity and the impacts of globalization on achieving superior business results.
