Pam Green Will Keynote Spring Conference

Metro Milwaukee SHRM has confirmed its first keynote for our Spring Conference on April 25, 2013 at the Italian Conference Center (Milwaukee). Pam Green, SHRM’s Vice President for U.S. Membership will present on the topic of “Workplace Flexibility: The Next Imperative for Business Success and HR Leadership.” Anyone who has seen Pam speak knows that she is more than just knowledgeable, she is passionate and enthusiastic about her topics and the HR profession.

Workplace flexibility has become a key business strategy to leverage the talents and skills of today’s increasingly diverse, aging, and multi-generational workforce. Flexible work arrangements such as job sharing, flexible scheduling, phased retirement, and telecommuting can drive employee engagement, productivity, retention, and benefit your organization’s bottom line.

The White House released a report on workforce flexibility in 2010 and it can be found HERE. SHRM has been engaged in a partnership with the Families and Work Institute and the report issued by those organizations can be found HERE. At that same site, you can find other reports on workforce flexibility that address its benefits and liabilities in a range of workplace settings – small businesses, manufacturing, professional services, and education.

Metro Milwaukee SHRM plans to announce additional speakers in the weeks and months ahead. The theme for the one-day conference focuses on HR’s role in creating, implementing, and benchmarking corporate strategy and we anticipate as much as 7 hours of general and strategic credit for those attending.

For those interested in speaking at the conference, please contact the Metro Milwaukee SHRM office no later than September 30, 2012.
